A Festival for Writers, Readers, and Fans
Saturday August 15, 2026 3:00pm - 4:15pm MDT
What would it look like to run your author business in a way that resists hustle culture, extraction, and manipulation, and instead centres care, equity, community, and sustainability? This session explores what it means to build an anticapitalist authorial practice—one rooted in community, ethics, and balance rather than productivity and profit. We’ll unpack how capitalism shapes our work as authors, and explore practical ways to do business differently. Participants will learn concrete strategies for creating an authorial business that honours people, the planet, and personal well-being.
