POV rules are often taught like laws of physics: break them and your story explodes. The truth? Plenty of great writers break them all the time and get away with it. This session dives into how Point of View actually works on the page, why readers get confused when it goes wrong, and how experienced writers bend (or ignore) POV conventions on purpose. We’ll examine first person, third person, omniscient narration, and how to head hop effectively rather than accidentally. You’ll learn practical tools for managing perspective, and the confidence to choose the right POV for your story.
