A Festival for Writers, Readers, and Fans
Sunday August 16, 2026 10:30am - 11:45am MDT
Improv Your Writing is a playful, one-hour workshop that uses theatrical improv techniques to help writers of all levels unlock creativity and have fun with the writing process. No acting experience is required, and there is no need to be “funny”. Just bring your imagination.

Through low-pressure games, participants learn how to quiet their inner critic, generate new ideas, and get out of their heads so writing can move forward more naturally. The focus is not performance, but using improv as a practical tool to support storytelling, dialogue, and character development.  With fun, interactive exercises, plenty of laughter, and a supportive environment, participants are encouraged to take creative risks and reconnect with the joy of writing.
