About me
Bob Booth was born in Winnipeg, raised in Calgary, and after training as a naval officer and receiving his Bachelor of Engineering, graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada. He went on to graduate in Law from Dalhousie University, then returned to Calgary to spend forty-five years practising energy, natural resources, and defence law. He has served on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards and holds both a King’s Counsel designation and the ICD. D director qualification.
After law, Bob wanted to engage the other side of his brain and discovered creative writing at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society. He is currently writing a young adult historical fiction novel inspired by his grandfather’s years at sea in the late 19th century. Bob is a member of the AWCS Historical Fiction Round Table and is undertaking a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Fiction at the University of King’s College. Bob and his wife Kathie enjoy time with their two grandchildren and being trained by their energetic Labrador retriever.
