When Words Collide 2026

Dianne Koebel-Pede is an author/educator and former kidlit book reviewer for The Edmonton Journal. She is on the CANSCAIP Board of Directors (Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators, and Performers) and hosts their online writing retreats. In 2024, she participated in the WGA Mentorship Program under the tutelage of Gail Anderson-Dargatz. Her ADHD-themed picture book, MY AMAZING RACE CAR BRAIN (DC Canada Educational Publishing, 2025), was inspired by her struggles with ADHD. The French version, MON INCROYABLE CERVEAU-VOITURE DE COURSE and  MIA'S MASSIVE STASH OF CASH are slated for publication in 2026 with DC Canada.  MY SOCCER SEASON, 2023 was an education in self-publishing. She is one of the authors of the collaborative novels, Laurel Lake Lodge, (2025 Lintusen Press), and WHISKERS THROUGH TIME: THE CALGARY CAT CHRONICLES, to be launched at When Words Collide 2026. Her TV pilot, MOOSEKEG COUNTY FM, was a quarter finalist in the ISA 2026 Emerging Screenwriters Comedy Competition.
