About me
Hilary Faktor lives in Calgary, AB, with her husband, daughters, and her black lab, Happy. Her essays have appeared in The Globe and Mail, Maclean’s, HuffPost Canada and Canada’s History magazine, among others. Her debut novel, Pretty Bird, a contemporary, coming-of-age thriller that transports readers from modern-day Toronto to an isolated Saskatchewan farm, will be published in October 2026. A passionate reader and writer, Hilary returned to university and graduated from the University of Calgary this year with a Bachelor of Arts in English Honours, Creative Writing.
