What if your imagination runs on one language, but your emotions bloom in another? Or it feels as if the place where imagination and emotion overlap comes in one version per language? This workshop explores bilingual, immigrant, and translingual cognition — the shifts of memory, rhythm, metaphor, and voice across languages. Drawing on hybrid poetic structures and lived translingual experience, with just a touch of psycholinguistics, we will discuss ways to harness the power of language-interference, emotional memory, and translation as craft tools.
